Golf Mk7 heater core replacement RHD.
This is an overview of the job. The car had little to no hot air in the cabin. The intake pipe was hot and the return pipe from the rad was cold. The heater core/rad was blocked. I also flushed the engine coolant system to try stop it from blocking again. The core I used was a new vw replacement.
please look at my video about the water pumps on this engine one of them helps the heater core
• VW WATER PUMPS TDI 1.6 / 2.0 P26f800 ...
this video about the coolant tank bag
• VW coolant tank silica bag #mechanic ...
If you watch all the video to the end you will see all the steps
In the comments it's been said there are two different brands of heater core just keep that in mind if doing the job
iv also had the new core block again even after a flushing the coolant. I cleaned it out and it was ok. it has been reported in the comments that it happened someone else as well
there is also a electric pump number 3 at the rear of the sump that helps speed up the heating to inside the cab. there is normally a engine code for this pump. on a side note there is at least two different brands of electric pumps front and rear it could be 2 of the same brand or one of each.
