In Chinese calligraphy, three are eight basic strokes, which most of other strokes were developed based on. And the Chinese character 永Yǒng (means forever) covers all this eight strokes, which is known as 永字八法yǒng zì bā fǎ (eight Chinese calligraphy methods included in the Chinese character Yǒng). By the way, there are many writing styles and calligraphy styles in Chinese calligraphy, the writing style that I showed you in this video is called kǎishū, which is considered as the regular script in Chinese writing system since 2000 years ago, and it didn’t changed a lot in the past 2000 years.
