The town of Elvas, 8 KM from Badajoz (Spain), was a strategic point of defense of the border and inherited a vast military heritage of recognized value and authenticity. It has been classified as a World Heritage Site throughout the historic center, the bastioned walls of the 19th century. XVII, the Fort of Santa Luzia, the Fort of Grace, the Amoreira Aqueduct and the three fortins: São Pedro, São Mamede and São Domingos or Piedade.
