You could make it this weekend!

This full instructional video takes you through everything you need to make this table with as little fuss as possible, creating the table in flatpack form initially, then through easy assembly with every step shown.

If you don't have a mitre/chop saw, you can just use a jigsaw, although some (non-essential) angles may need to be missed.

I intentionally kept all the garden bird sounds in and reduced the sound of the mitre saw to use as ASMR ambience. Please feel free to let me know if you like this too.

Here are the sections of the video, just click the time to be taken to that section:

00:00 Introduction
01:12 Full measurements to create the flatpack
03:49 Using the mitre saw to cut all the parts
14:27 Cutting the corner supports
19:17 Building the table
20:22 Screw count
24:56 Features of the table
26:00 Making the parasol hole

I designed this table to have loads of features including: -

1. Being lightweight.
2. Easy and cheap to make (only cost me £105 in wood and screws).
3. Easy for 1 person to move around (has handles to lift at the centre of mass).
4. Has space for your knees all around.
5. Very small footprint for the size of the table (900mm x c800mm for table size 1.8m x 1m).
6. Is extremely sturdy and strong (will comfortably support 3 adults standing on it).
7. Is very long-lasting (the last one I made 4 years ago shows no signs of wear).
8. Has 8 legs tied together (4 box section legs) for extra strength.
9. Worktop has full edge support underneath.
10. Gives you lots of bragging rights at your BBQ

The deckboards I use are 1.8m long (hence the table length), 120mm wide and have a depth of 25mm. Most are tanalised (treated for outdoor use), but it is a good idea to seal them with good wood treatment, especially on cut ends. Although, the last one I made was not treated and is still going stong in all UK weathers.
