Dancer: I Ketut Ariadi Kusuma

This dance presents a character study of a Balinese warrior. Baris is derived from a ceremonial warrior dance, known as Baris Gede, in which the dancers execute a battle drill in the line formation. The version of Baris presented tonight is often included in secular performances. The dance stressed a combination of power and concentration in its portrayal of a young warrior preparing for battle.
