It's been a long and winding road. A road full of hand sewn eyelets, zip ties, badly stitched biased tape, and incredibly unflattering pattern drafting. It's been fun to see how I have improved in my sewing skills, mainly those involving making stays, since beginning my historical costuming journey one and a half years ago. I still have a lot to learn and practice before getting my projects to the level of Historical plausibility that I would like, but it's about the journey not the destination, right? I hope that this video might inspire others to take a leap of faith into a hobby they've been intrigued by, and to power through the first few mistakes, because practice makes perfect. Oh, and yes I know I did #6 twice, lol.
For my final pair of stays in this video, I used the American Duchess Simplicity Stays Pattern, 8579. They're not sponsoring this video, I just really enjoyed this pattern.
