Late night lightning drew me out the door in July 2006. I was 19 years old that summer, all the time in the world to drive around after Midnight filming lightning bolts. I spent this night in southeastern Champaign County near Homer, IL. Lightning struck the Frito-Lay corn processing plant near Homer, IL with a glorious green powerflash following the bolt. A few other bolts struck power poles a little close for comfort. This storm video has been digitized from MiniDV videotape.
