Another bread that is just so addicting, one is not enough!!! Soooo happy to share this PASTEL BUN which is an instant collaboration with a friend, she used my pandesal recipe, she taught me how to make the custard and then boom! Here you go…
YIELD: 20-22 Pastel Buns
GRAB WHAT you NEED:
BUN:
435g + 1/4 cup bread or all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp instant dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk (lukewarm)
1 large egg (room temp)
42g unsalted butter (room temp)
CUSTARD:
5 egg yolks
1 big can condensed milk
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp unsalted butter
EGG WASH:
2 tbsp milk
1 egg
pinch of salt
