Hello, today I am going to talk about when most women began to show a pregnant belly!

Every woman is different and can start showing as early as 12 weeks which is typical in first-time moms. Women who have given birth previously may show earlier as their uterus and abdominal muscles have been stretched.

Over the first 12 weeks of being pregnant your uterus is the shape of a pear and then grows to the size of a grapefruit. At 16 weeks of pregnancy, your uterus will begin stretching to fit your baby in which you may begin to show. It is important to note that there are all sorts of factors that may affect when you begin to show in which you may not show until 20 weeks.

Other factors that may influence when you start to look pregnant are body size, depth of the pelvis, baby size, and if you are carrying multiples. If you have any concerns about the size of your baby bump contact your provider so that they can check on the health and due date of your baby.
