In this episode we go on a road trip to retrieve a first generation 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS / SS 350 4 speed car from a barn out in the middle of nowhere.
1967 was the first year of the Camaro, they are very similar to the Pontiac Firebirds of the same era. This body style went from 1967, 1968 and ended in 1969. There were base models, RS, SS, RS/SS, Z/28's and COPO's available depending on the year. The RS and SS packages could be combined.
Engines available throughout these years were 230, 250, 302, 307, 327, 350, 396 and the 427. Transmissions available were the Power Glide, TH400, M20 and M21.
The body tag on this particular car includes these marks:
O1C T
67-12637 NOR
779-Z K-K
W 2LGS 3L
4P 5Y
Since this car was built in January at Norwood and has 2L + 3L + 4P it might only be an RS with a L30 275hp 327cid engine and 4 speed manual transmission instead of the RPO L48 295hp 350cid SS.
The engine was found to not be correct for the year, it's an early 70's 350.
