A nasty thunderstorm washed me out of hunting with the Nokta Makro Simplex+ but I really wasn’t super impressed with this machine during the short time of swinging it. I mean it’s a fantastic entry level machine, and probably the best bang for your Buck $200+ machine available, but I just feel better using my old Teknetics T2 model. I truly love that ‘ole machine. Probably my favorite metal detector of any I’ve ever used, ever. So immediately sold the Simplex+ machine lol. It is time for me to start thinking about investing in a newer machine though…. and I’m leaning towards the XP Deus, Minelab Equinox 800 or Garrett AT/max (Jase edition, simply because I really like the camouflage detector lol) and the main reason I’m considering the AT/max is due to the fact that I’m very familiar with Garrett’s “All Terrain” model and format, which will eliminate months of potential learning curve. I hate the thought of investing more time in learning a new machine…. but from what I hear of the XP Deus and Deus II machines may be 100% worth it! So……. still not sure which way I will go. Might just depend on how I’m feeling on that particular day I pull the trigger lol.
(Update: I bought an AT Max and love it!!! lol.
