By 1999 Dr. Dre was dealing with a great amount of doubt. It had been several years after he released his critically acclaimed debut album “The Chronic” and by 1996 Dre would leave Death Row and would start a record label that we know now today as Aftermath Entertainment. He would release a compilation album titled “Dr. Dre Presents: The Aftermath” in November of 1996 and have involvement in The Firm’s debut album. Both albums weren’t necessarily received the best and this cast a shadow of doubt over Dre. His second studio album “2001” would show his critics that he’s still got it.
