The Sau Rtorjiwa movement of Dorini poetry peaked before the nationalist movements that led to the Dorian Empire’s unification and expansion. Sau Rtorjiwa translates to ‘poisonous sun,’ and refers to the juxtaposition inherent in the poetry – dark themes with light, matter-of-fact voices.

This particular poem, Tikundu, was written by Chui Dawida (me). The gloss and translation can be found in the video, but also in the comments, along with etymology, derivation, and language use notes. The vertical font took a LONG time to make, but I finally did it! And since I know many others want to learn how to make vertical non-alphabetical fonts typable, I’ll probably release a video later on detailing exactly how I made it.

As always with long translations, there will definitely be mistakes in the gloss and translation itself! That’s unfortunately just how it goes – but if you spot anything you think is an error please let me know in the comments!
