نه به هغه تېر دوران بېرته په پکتیا راشي
The glorious past is long gone for Paktia
زه چې خپل تاریخ ګورم وه وروڼو ژړا راشي
I cry as I look at our past
نه ګردېز، زرمت کې شته هغه پښتنه جذبه
The Pashtun spirit is no longer found in Gardez and Zurmat
قوم د احمدزیو کې بلکل شوه سړه جذبه
The Ahmadzais have lost it too
ورشه طوطاخېلو ته وران وېجاړ کورونه دي
Ruined are the abodes of the Totakhels
نن د پکتیا هر ګوټ کې سوي فریادونه دي
The hopeful cries of Paktia have now faded
لاندې شول د خاورو نه هغه ګلالي مشران
The beloved leaders have now turned into dust

ژوند د غلامۍ کوي دا زمونږ ژوندي مشران

ښکلي ښایسته ځدران واړه تار په تار وینم
The beautiful Zadrans are shattered
کونډې یتیمان ژاړي واړه خوار او زار وینم
Widows and orphans now cry out
څه شو اسماعیل خېل وروڼه، ورشه مندوزیو ته
Ismailkhels and Mandozais are nowhere to be seen
زېر زبر تڼي ګوره را به شې ترې زیو ته
So have Tanais and Trizais disappeared
اوګوره لکڼ ګربز تار په تار قومونه دي
The tribes of Lakan and Gurbaz face a similar fate
خوست د خوشحالۍ ځای و اوس پکې غمونه دي
Khost was the happy place, full of sadness now
بېرته به ژوندي نه شي ښکلي صبري مشران
The beautiful Sabari leaders will not come back to life
