While you will end up unlocking all characters in Granblue Fantasy Relink, the early game will gate your character select choice. Based on the Granblue Relink Demo and Developer Interviews, here are the characters with the most versatility to add into your early game party.

For this list, I placed high value on Team-wide Buffs, Enemy Debuffs, or character specific mechanics that can provide extra value outside of damage (Such as multi stagger or targets for your enemies to fight!)
