Possibly the only wet wheel grinder powered by an old garage door opener. Wet sharpening protects the temper in your steel.

To the best of my knowledge, the old grindstone in my video is a "Prairie Tool Company Wet Wheel G7," which is featured in this vintage catalog (http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/1459.... More about the grinder is here (http://vintagemachinery.org/photoinde...) and elsewhere online (e.g., Pinterest and eBay). I think there were a lot of these grinders made.

The old garage door opener is from Sedcon and, from everything I've been able to find, was likely made in the 1960s. The opener was made in Illinois and I found a few old documents about it online: https://archive.org/stream/Model300Se... and https://archive.org/details/Model300S...
