When you start your washing machine, you should always throw in a sock. This is a really neat trick that I want to show you in this video. And I'll show you why there should always be a knot in the sock.

You can grate some curd soap and put a small amount of it in a sock. Then tie a knot in the sock and put it in the washing machine with your clothes.

The curd soap will dissolve during the wash and slowly be released through the sock into the rest of the laundry. Curd soap is incredibly effective at cleaning and is also very cheap.

It means you can use half as much detergent or none at all. So try a sock in the washing machine next time!
