An Mhaighdean Mhara🧜🏻‍♀️ is the first Sean-nós song I ever learned as a kid! Though it is from Donegal, my dialect is not. (Well, towards the end my fadas get a little relaxed maybe😅) With this being St. Patrick’s Day week, Irish-American Heritage Month, Women’s History Month, and Seachtain na Gaeilge—the annual festival of celebrating the Irish language—The Mermaid felt like the perfect song to share.🇮🇪
