Three years ago, the Harvest was the first complex liquefied ammonia transport barge built in the U.S. since 1982. After the assembly of the 26,124,000 pound barge, OXBO was tasked with moving the 505’ long vessel into the Willamette River.

OXBO used a combination of 168 axle lines of electronic steered Goldhofer platform trailers to move the vessel. 32 300-ton skid beams were used in addition to the platform trailers. The total weight of moving equipment was 2,180,000 pounds. Making the overall gross weight of the load 28,304,000 pounds!

Once the barge was moved approximately 1,000 feet onto a floating dry dock, it was ready for launch. The entire move was completed in one 10-hour shift, wrapping up OXBO’s turnkey service from engineering to launch.
