This unique weekend course was offered for the first time in the UK, consisting of a special fusion in which advanced Mindfulnesses Practices are being combined with Interfaith Philosophical Peace and Enlightenments This filmed content consists of the section of the course covering Enlightenments, with Dr Thomas Daffern BA (Hons) PGCE. DSc (Hon).PhD. who is one of the world's leading experts in Interfaith Peace Studies. He directs the International Institute of Peace and Global Philosophy. His Phd. from the University of London 2008 comprised a pioneering History of attempts at International Peacemaking 1945-2001. For 10 years he also served as a Religious Studies and Philosophy teacher in the UK Schools Sector and spent 2 years as Head of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Poole Grammar School 2005-2007. He gave the main academic input into the course and explored how can Mindfulness and enlightenment consciousness point us towards a peaceful solution to wars as in Gaza-Israel and Ukraine-Russia and now in Lebanon? Dr. Daffern has published over 60 books including Enlightenments (2005) which is the first work to call for a Comparative Philosophical Epistemology of Enlightenment. In 2021-2022 Thomas taught a special year long course Enlightenments with Satyen Raja which was the first such course ever attempted. This course in Bournemouth broke new ground and asked fundamental questions about the era we are living through. This 3rd section of the course asks questions about language and enlightenment - what words do we use for Enlightenment in different languages? Do they help us home in on the complexity of our topic? The section of the course on Mindfulness was given by Annabelle Lazenby but was not recorded due to its more discursive nature. This was filmed on day one of our course and covers the languages and terminologies we use for "enlightenments" In this section we also go on to discuss Shinto, Taoist and Druid approaches to Enlightenments
