How did Albus Dumbledore defeat Gellert Grindelwald? We’ve all heard of this famous duel between two of the greatest wizards of all time! But what makes it really interesting is that the odds seem stacked in Grindelwald’s favor … He’s the master of the elder wand… he’s a natural born-seer, and a wizard prodigy without a moral compass … now, the best and easiest and most obvious answer is that Albus was just better … straight up more powerful … and although I really do like that; I mean I would love to see a movie or tv show where Albus does just goes toe to toe with Gellert and despite the impossible odds, Albus just has more grit, wit, and natural talent and flat out beats Gellert, BUT I have a feeling that there will be a lot more to it! We’ve already seen an interesting bit of magic that actually held Dumbledore back … the blood pact made between Albus and Gellert prevented them from attacking each other! Which is interesting when you think about their three way duel involving Aberforth, Albus, and Gellert …which resulting in Arianna’s death … seemingly the blood pact causes someone's curse to ricoshay or misfire an accidentally strike Arianna ~ The blood pact, is the reason why Gellert is tracking down Credence Barebones, who is a powerful obscurial ~ IF Gellert himself can’t move against his old friend, he wants ace in the hole … for any future potential fights! Now that the blood pact is destroyed … and Aurelius Dumbledore nutrelized … Dumbledore can finally move against Grindelwald … BUT he doesn’t … the blood pact is destroyed in 1932 and the famous duel doesn’t happen for another 13 years … So while we wait, let’s explore 9 interesting ideas or theories that might be relevant to this famous duel ~ and which might help us determine how Dumbledore came out victorious … the last one is my personal favorite … because it’s something that I think the fandom hasn’t considered … it might even seem laughable but it’s all just theory and speculation …
