If the cruise control on your VW Golf is not working after work on the clutch pedal; check the sensor that goes into the front of the clutch assembly. Take the sensor off the clutch pedal frame and gently pull out the spring loaded sensor until your hear a click.

I could not find a video of this problem so this is my effort. Keep on trucking and saving the pasta!
