This video is based on a case study by Nandini D. Bhosale from IDC, IIT Bombay. We often follow the societal norms we’ve been given. Going against these norms takes courage, especially for Indian parents who have spent their lives sticking to traditional rules. Parents proudly accepting their homosexual child plays a huge role in building up the self-confidence of the child as well as the way Society looks at them. I want to tell the story of a mother who, despite holding onto traditions, learns to embrace her daughter’s homosexuality after overcoming her own biases. The story ends on a hopeful note, showing progress towards acceptance. Everyone deserves to see their individuality reflected in various ways.
