In this video, we aim to investigate the most widely used and prescribed drug for acne - Isotretinoin. It is famously known for its long list of side effects, which can be very concerning and intimidating for lots of people struggling with acne, to choose whether they want to go down this route or not. We define what acne is, the three main types of acne, discuss the success rate of Isotretinoin followed by an in-depth walkthrough of the drug’s mechanism and effects on the body using a 6-month course of treatment timeline.Then, side effects are also discussed and organized by severity, as well as a list of common questions one can ask to their dermatologist when about to go on Isotretinoin.
