During a summit camp in some serious conditions my Hilleberg Soulo began to leak quite badly through the outer tent door vent zip. The tent was pitched correctly but the wind and the rain was that strong it was blowing the water up and under the canopy/hood allowing water to track down one of the cross over poles.
Although it really wasn’t anything to get your knickers in a twist over it’s still quite annoying, most folk keep their boots-bags etc in the porch. I think if you woke up to all your kit piss wet through you would not be happy.
Items needed:

It comes with a hard bristle brush but I find a hard eyebrow makeup brush works much better.

From the Hilleberg website regarding seam sealing:
Do I need to seal the seams on my new tent?
You do not need to seam seal our tents as we use a stitching method that makes the seams really strong and durable. We use a flat fell-seam in all our tents and our sewing machines employ cooling jets around the needles. This means that every stitch goes through four layers of fabric and the size of the hole is minimized by preventing heat-producing friction. The end result is a very precise, very reliable seam that has remarkable durability and water resistance.
