Brazilian students expressed disappointment over the blockade of X, but some insisted that Musk must respect Brazilian laws.

Brazil started blocking Elon Musk's social media platform X early Saturday, making it largely inaccessible on both the web and through its mobile app after the company refused to comply with a judge's order.

This decision followed X's failure to comply with a directive from Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, who mandated the platform name a legal representative in Brazil.

De Moraes criticized Musk for disrespecting Brazilian law, stating that the blockade would remain until X complies with orders.

As of midnight Saturday, major internet providers began suspending access to the platform, imposing a daily fine of 50,000 reais ($8,900) for VPN use to bypass the ban.
