Initially I wasn't planning on making a cover for this, but after seeing the one from ‪@LinuxPiano‬ it made me want to give it a shot. The ending did not strike me in any particular way so far, but agreeably it is quite a nice song with a really sweet and fresh vibe to it. It also has a simple yet catchy melody to it which I thought could be fun to play on the piano.

It may not look like much, but this was quite a tough one to arrange. For one, the original song has so many interesting shenanigans that were very tempting to translate to the piano (they didn't didn't make it into the final build sadly). Also, the original song has quite a catchy and punchy accompaniment and I really wanted to capture that. Arranging it with too much pedal would not have made this work (for me). So I decided to keep it technically rather simple overall so that the bass line can stand out properly. It also allowed me to emphasize the rhythm much better.

I guess this is a style that I am starting to use a lot more in my recent arrangements. On the one hand, it also makes the covers easier to play, which is definitely a plus since I sadly do not have the time nor patience to spend a huge chunk of time practicing them anymore. On the other hand, I cannot show off my technique lol. In the end though, I always turned out quite happy with my last couple arrangements. Somehow the fact that they are simpler makes me arrange them in a way that allows elements other than technique to stand out much better. I find it to ultimately work in favor of the music. One other fun fact is that the seemingly simple left hand always turned out a bit trickier to manage than expected. In no small part because of the emphasis on rhythm. It required me a lot more focus than I would like to admit until I managed to play it comfortably. Added to the fact that recently I started a job for a month, I was honestly a bit scared I would end up dropping this one here in particular. Yet here I am, overcoming one small challenge at a time. While I could be playing video games instead, uploading these videos also brings me great joy.
