—- Life can be challenging for monks returning to the lay world after years in India. Not all are able to adjust to everyday life. It’s important that we offer them support —-

A husband (ex geshe monk) and wife (ex nun did her lo-sum-da-sum meditation) from Tibet live in Lugsam Shichak camp 7 (locals mostly calls it SanJor camp) near Bylakuppe, a community exclusively for Tibetans from TIBET. We learned about a particularly impoverished couple who struggle to make ends meet, cooking breakfast using an old mud stove to save on gas and selling liangfen in local restaurants. They lack clothes, savings, and have never taken their seven-year-old daughter anywhere or bought her new clothes or toys. Their furniture comes from friends.

Moved by their situation, we gave them an advance of 5,000 rupees each pala amala and $200 for their 7 year old daughter’s pocket money along with a commitment to find sponsors for them.

We plan to provide 2,000 rupees monthly for the couple and 3,500 monthly for their daughter, with an additional $400 for her after school curriculum and school bags and school uniform and toys and other necessary and fun stuff.

We hope you, the readers, will consider sponsoring this family and helping improve their lives.
