Pussycat was a Dutch music group of three sisters Toni, Betty and Marianne Veldpaus, who had their greatest successes in the 1970s.

Already in their early youth, encouraged by their stepfather, they performed at carnivals, parties and talent contests as "De Zingende Zusjes" (the singing sisters). Later they called themselves "The BG's from Holland", where the BG was supposed to stand for "Beat Girls", but was also a reference to the then very popular "Bee Gees". They covered some of the band's songs, but also other pieces of Motown music.

The three sisters' long-time mentor and songwriter was Werner Theunissen. He helped them get a record deal in the early 1970s, at that time still under the name "Sweet Reaction". He also penned their biggest hits, including "Mississippi". This was released in April 1975 after a change to the biggest Dutch music label, EMI/Bovema, and a new renaming of the band to "Pussycat".

Spotlight was a music programme for young people broadcast by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) between 1968 and 1978. It was the equivalent of Beat Club or Musikladen in Germany.
