This is my review of a landmark 1970s police drama. Released in 1971, THE FRENCH CONNECTION is a story of two New York City narcotics detectives. Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle and Buddy "Cloudy" Russo get a tip of a shipment of heroine, coming from France into New York City.
