Ignazio Boschetto's live performance of Lucio Battisti's 'E penso a te' at Matera in June 2019, with English subtitles.
Considered one of the greatest Italian love songs ever, 'E penso a te' is said to have been written in just 19 minutes during a car ride, where Mogol improvised the lyrics and Lucio Battisti sang the melody line. The lyrics tell the daily life and nostalgic thoughts of a man still in love with a woman who is not his current girlfriend. The piano-driven song builds up slowly as the story is being told, until an intrumental crescendo erupts, representing the explosion of nostalgia. The ending has a final diminuendo in which all of the instruments dissolve into silence, leaving only the singer's voice, as to represent his loneliness in the world.

This video is supposed to promote Il Volo's work among their non-Italian speaking audience.
