History Of Amer Fort
Friends, the foundation of Amer Fort was laid by Dulhan Rai in 1150 AD. Then on the same foundation, the Amer Fort was constructed extensively by Raja Mansingh I in the 16th century. After which, for about one and a half hundred years, the successors and rulers of Raja Mansingh did the work of expansion and renovation of this Amer Fort. After this, in 1727, Sawai Jai Singh II made Jaipur his capital from Amer during his reign. Let us tell you that before Jaipur, the capital of the Kachwaha dynasty used to be Amer. There is also a famous temple of Sheela Devi inside this Amer Palace, which was built by Raja Mansingh. Some people believe that this fort was named after the name of Amer Lord Shiva, Ambikeshwar. While some people believe that the name of this fort is derived from the name of Maa Durga, Amba. In this most famous and grand Amer Fort of Rajasthan, many historical structures inside the fort were destroyed during the time of different rulers, while many new magnificent buildings were constructed. Amer Fort Jaipur is divided into four parts, inside which there are different gates for entry. Each part of Amer Fort is adorned with its beautiful courtyard. The main gate of Amer Fort is famous as Suraj Pol or Surya Dwar. Surajpol is towards the east and its position related to the rising sun gave it the name Surya Dwar i.e. Suraj Pol. From the stairs of Amer Fort, you will reach a beautiful and impressive courtyard called Jaleb Chowk of the palace complex, where you will get to see Sheetla Mata Temple.

Famous Monuments of Amer Fort.

There are many ancient and beautiful monuments in Amer Fort. These add to the beauty of the fort. These monuments were built by many kings during their reign.

1. Diwan-E-Aam
Amer Fort Diwan-e-Aam is a hall built for the public. The Diwan-e-Aam of the Amer Fort forms the second level. This hall is open on three sides. The Diwan-e-Aam hall stands on the support of two pillars with elephants decorated with extensive glass work. Sukh Niwas Palace is situated in front of the Diwan-e-Aam of the Amer Fort which is decorated with ivory.
2. Diwan-E-Khas
Among the many ancient monuments of Amer Fort, Diwan is a special one. This monument was mainly built by the rulers of Amer to meet emperors, guests and ambassadors of other kings.

3. Ganesh Pol

Ganesh Pol is located to the south of Diwan-e-Aam of Amer Fort. Ganesh Pol is one of the main monuments of Amer Fort. Ganesh Dwar was built by Raja Jai ​​Singh II between 1611 and 1667 AD. It is one of the 7 main huge and beautiful gates of Amer Fort. It is also said about this gate that the king returns after winning the war. Then he enters from this gate, hence it is also called Amer Entry Gate. The king used to be given a grand welcome from this pol. This gate has been decorated very beautifully. Due to the statue of Lord Ganesha installed on top of this gate, it is called Ganesh Pol.
4. Sukh Niwas

Sukh Niwas located in Amer Fort is made of sandalwood and ivory. Sukh Niwas was used by the king to spend time with his queens. Because of this, this place is called Sukh Niwas.

5. Dil Aaram Bag
Dil Aaram Bagh built in Amer Fort increases the beauty of the fort manifold. This garden was built around the 18th century. Dil Aaram Bagh has attractive ponds and fountains due to which everyone is stunned after seeing the beauty of this garden. The beauty and delightful view of this garden soothes everyone's heart. That is why it has become famous as Dilaram Bagh.

6. Sheesh Mahal
The most beautiful monument of Amer Fort is the Sheesh Mahal which is made by joining mirrors. The Sheesh Mahal is constructed in such a way that the entire hall is lit up with just a few rays of the sun. The light of a candle is enough to light up this hall.
