A buddy and I took a short day trip to Mt Airy, NC to visit the Andy Griffith Museum. After the museum we took a tour of the town in an authentic era squad car. Afterwards we had the world famous pork chop sandwich at the Snappy Lunch. We ended the day going to the top of Pilot Mountain.

The museum was much smaller than I expected but they had it packed full of authentic props and personal items of Andy’s he had donated.

The pork chop sandwich lived up to all expectations and didn’t last long once I got my hands on it.

Pilot Mountain has always been a favorite of mine since childhood and the trail leading to the knob was the location I chose to propose to my wife in 2005!
