It’s always sad when one of your favorite actors decides to step away from the spotlight and retire. Sometimes it feels like a long time coming. Other times it’s out of the blue. Either way, when the actors on today’s list retired, I’m sure there was a serious sense of sadness over the whole ordeal by fans everywhere.

I mean, Sean Connery has given us some of the most iconic performances of all time, from his roles in The Untouchables to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, to of course James Bond, so what was it like knowing that his last film before retiring was the boring The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen? On the other side, we all seriously love Rick Moranis and he was one of the most popular 80s and 90s actors, so it was noble of him to retire from acting after his wife passed away so that he could spend more time with his kids. Or even Cameron Diaz, who after a stellar 2014, decided to pivot away from acting to focus on more book-writing and investing. All of these actors and more had reasons from walking away from Hollywood. But who else is on the list?
