First, The Senate has released its Manager’s Package of 93 amendments to the 2025 NDAA.
The countering CCP Drones Act was NOT included in the package.
This is a fantastic development, but we shouldn’t let off the pressure yet. This isn’t the end of the road for this attempt to pass the Countering CCP Drones Act through the NDAA or in its stand-alone form, but it is a very good sign.
The NDAA will now be debated between the Senate and the House until both entities agree on language, with very little time left to negotiate.
Be sure to keep contacting your senators and representatives to educate them on how this bill would hurt drone users across America!

Next up, we have a few DJI leaks and Skydio event!
This week we saw a leaked image with a possible Mavic 4.
The possible Mavic 4 has a 3-camera setup on what is likely a testing body along with a Mavic 3 Pro, a Sony A7IV, and possibly a Lumix S5II.
It’s tough to speculate what may be different without more information.

The Air 3S pricing has been leaked including three combos.
The Air 3S and RC-N3 will come in at $1045, Air 3S and RC2 for $1310, and the Fly More combo at $1494.
Specific features are still sparse, with many hoping for a larger sensor on the Air 3S.
We’ll keep you updated when we see more!

Skydio also had an event this week where they released a dock for their Skydio X10 drone, as well as a DFR platform - DFR being drone as first responders. The platform is geared mainly towards law enforcement agencies, in partnership with Axon. This announcement seems to follow the footsteps of other manufacturers releasing "drone in a box" solutions over the last few years, including Skydio themselves with the X2 dock a few years ago, Autel and DJI with the Dock and Dock 2. The DFR solution announcement also comes in after the rise in popularity of this concept, pioneered over the last few years by companies such as DroneSense and Paladin, who worked with many public safety agencies. Another American UAS manufacturer, Brinc, announced their DFR program earlier this year as well.

Last up, a drone for good story from Tulsa County.
An 87 man with dementia went missing this week around 2:30 AM.
The family was unable to locate the man and called the police.
Police responded with a K-9 and a thermal drone.
Around 4:30 AM, the drone spotted a person near the K9 team, locating the missing man unharmed.
Great job and a great use of the drone!
