I always stay at the U Hotel in Makati when I'm in Manila. It's central, has a cafe on the ground floor, El Mundo, with great coffee and very good food. It's an art hotel with murals in every room and colourfully painted hallways. It cheers me up just being there. Have a look for yourself.
