Winslow Homer was the quintessential American painter, he delighted in all forms of genre, from Interior settings like the 'School Teacher', to life in the wild, deep in the woods, to the Rocky cliffs of Maine, and even Florida and the tropics. America in all its early beauty was his canvas..and Watercolor.
Homer was largely self-taught but we know he gleaned much from his time in Paris. Homer was prolific and this presentation is just a taste of his genius with the Watercolor medium.
