Anthony Perkins: 60 Second Bio

Anthony Perkins, born on 4th April 1932 in New York City, was an American actor, director, and singer. He is particularly known for his iconic role as Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". Perkins portrayal of Bates became one of the most memorable characters in cinematic history.
He originally started out in theatre, but showcased his versatility throughout his career, appearing in a range of roles across film, television, and stage, demonstrating his acting prowess in diverse projects, including the films "Friendly Persuasion", "Goodbye Again", "The Trial", and "Pretty Poison".
He also ventured into directing and singing, releasing several albums, but remained best known for his portrayal of Norman Bates, reprising the role in several sequels to "Psycho", solidifying his status as a legendary figure in the horror genre.
Anthony Perkins passed away in 1992 at the age of 60. Despite his untimely death, his contributions to cinema continue to be celebrated, leaving an indelible mark in film history.
