A tragic accident occurred near Chennai involving the Bhagmati Express. The Mysuru-Darbhanga train collided with a goods train near Kavaraipettai on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. Over 30 NDRF teams are involved in the ongoing rescue operations. Republic Kannada is providing non-stop coverage of the incident.

Hundreds of passengers had boarded the train from Mysuru, with more than 180 Kannadigas among them. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has instructed authorities to expedite the rescue efforts. However, heavy rains are hampering the operations. Minister M.S. Nassar is inspecting the site to oversee the situation.
