This is the most exciting and adventurous day of the journey as the entire route is supposed to be a complete moraine patch on the glacier which feeds Tosh river. Besides the route involves few rockfall areas which has to be traversed smartly. Incase if you want to make it fast, you can take an alternate route[both the routes are parallel to each other] which involves a direct traverse to the valley without climbing to Kuta Thach and descending back to join the main route. While trekking in June, the snow acts like a hard snow bridge at most of the place but is very tough to predict around the moraines, where there is a chance of sinking down. One has to traverse zig zag finding out the best route and make it to the last part where the valley divides into - left and right. Take a left turn into the valley and continue with a two hours of steep climb for the base camp on your right. The entire climb for the base camp is susceptible to rockfall and should be traversed very smartly and fast. This is the toughest and the most tiring part of the entire route as it is almost 4700 meters
The temperature drops below zero after 7 PM and it really gets very cold in the night at Sara Umga base camp. The camp offers some of the most amazing views of Tosh glacier.
