This video features the KATO Santa Fe Super Chief N-scale 8 car set # 106-074. To complete the consist I added the 4 car sleeper set 106-6003. Motive power for the consist includes 4 Kato engines. EMD F7A(#40) F7B F7B F7A(#38) . All engines are equipped with Digitrax DCC decoders.
The AT&SF Super Chief was dubbed "The Train of the Stars" As described below.
"In 1935 the Santa Fe inaugurated its premier first class sleeping car train the "Super Chief" The Super Chief was frequently patronized by Hollywood stars because of the fine accommodations, fine dining and fast 39hr 45min trip between Chicago and Los Angeles through the rich scenery of the American Southwest. It quickly became the most recognized train in the United States with its sleek silver and red war bonnet painted F units in the lead.

The train consist (below) in this video is what ran from Chicago to L.A. in the summer of 1953.
