In the summer of 1980 and 1981, my cousin Yura and I went on a pilgrimage to Mount Athos. In those distant times, there was no electricity, no Internet, no smartphone, no satellite TV, no telephone (except for a few monasteries), no cars (except for the old bus that takes pilgrims from the port of Daphne to the administrative city of Karyes). This was exactly the real Mount Athos, where every pilgrim could spend several days and gain new experiences in accordance with his spiritual state.
The soundtrack accompanying the photographs was recorded in April 1985 during my third visit to the monastery of the Prophet Elijah.

We stopped at the following places: Karyes, Skite of the Prophet Elijah, Stavronikita Monastery, Iviron Monastery, Philopheou Monastery, Monastery of the Great Lavra, Karoulia, Skete of Saint Anne, Monastery of Saint Gregory, Monastery of Simonos -Petra, Monastery of Saint Panteleimon.

I thank the people who appeared in these photos:
Hegumen Seraphim
Monk Ioanikiy
Father John
Hieroschemamonk Seraphim of Karulia
Schemamonk Nikodim Karulia
Elder Simeon
George became Father George
John became Father Glykerios
Basilios Stefanakos
Mirko Vuceljic
