Phultala rail station was used as an important rail station during the British period. And it was an important part of Eastern Bengal Rail State at that time. Now a new platform and a new railway station building is constructed by Ircon International Limited (Indian Company). This new rail station will impact more in the near future. As it will be used as the "Take-Off Point" of "Khulna-Mongla Port Rail Line". As a result, rapid communication system will be much more easier among Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan which will impact greatly on the national economy of Bangladesh.
