Every hardcore horror movie fan would agree that when the 1990s came rolling in, a significant amount of hype for the horror genre went rolling out. This can be attributed, of course, to the mediocre quality of the movies that were released at the time. After films like Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Friday the 13th set the benchmark in the 80s, it was understandably tough to follow up, and continue carry the torch for the genre. Although Wes Craven’s Scream regenerated hype for slashers a little, horror just wasn’t the same anymore. Amidst this transition, there were a handful of hidden gems released, including sequels to a few old horror classics. These didn’t receive enough love and recognition at the time but are certainly worth revisiting now. Watch this video to explore some of these brilliant titles. Enjoy!
