The coasts of Baja California host the highest genetic diversity of the Northern Pacific population of Humpback whales. The whales arrive in the area every winter to mate, breed and raise their calves. This makes it a priority area when it comes to their conservation. In this video we explore the challenges facing this population in Mexico and further north. We also hear about the imminent creation of a 'refuge' for Humpback whales around Los Cabos in southern Baja.
