In this video, I review YouTube Premium and YouTube Music. These are both relatively new services offered by YouTube and so I had to try them! Here is what I found:

YouTube Music:
Good:
*Google algorithm to find new music
* directly integrated with YouTube for common playlists and search history
* more music unavailable on other platforms (small DJs, small artists, live concerts, etc.)
* feature allowing me to turn off video and only stream audio. This is great because it saves my data
*Mixtape is the personalized radio
* radio stations
* actual YouTube videos as well as artist released albums/songs
* subscription includes Goolge Play Music
* Google Play Music includes cloud locker for 50,000 of your own songs (from old CDs or purchased music!)
* google voice search
* no new accounts needed

Bad:
* weak social aspect
* only one "mixtape" vs Spotify's 6 Daily Mix playlists
* no sleep timer
* minimal artist interaction
* minimal added "cool" features to make me love this app

PREMIUM
Good:
* offline watching (I love watching YT more than most other media and therefore, I love the ability to download content and either save my data, or watch on planes and subways)
* YouTube originals
* background playing:
great for white noise, news, talk shows, podcasts, audiobooks, music, asmr, workouts, and all of this while multitasking on my phone
* no ads!!!
* Uses regular YouTube app

Bad:
* I wish YouTube would make it all just one app
* Only YouTube originals; no other shows like there are on Netflix
* Not many of my friends watch YouTube originals
