This video looks at the concept of why many narcissistic people don't seem to listen to others, even those closest to them. Through maladaptive defence mechanisms aimed at protecting a false and fragile sense of self many narcissists never seem to listen to the point where they seem to reject reality.

They often display poor listening skills, gaslight others, engage in reactive abuse and don't accept responsibility for their actions.

However there is also an other element of listening, more associated with dark personality types and dark empaths where they do listen, but not quite the the way or for the reasons you might think.
