The 2024 Berkeley Lab Biological and Environmental Program Integration Center (BioEPIC) Research SLAM took place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 virtually through ZOOM. The culminating live event was co-hosted by Mingfei Chen, Reigning BioEPIC Slam Champion, and Jeremy Snyder, Earth & Environmental Sciences Area Communications Specialist.

BioEPIC Research SLAM Champion: Kelsey Crutchfield-Peters, postdoctoral researcher, Belowground Biogeochemistry, “Rooting for Carbon: Rhizospheres, Redox, and Belowground Carbon Cycling in a Warmer World"
First Runner Up: Veronica Escalante, postdoctoral researcher, mCAFEs, "Aromatic Acids in the Spotlight: Unraveling Their Influence on Plant-Microbe Interactions"
Honorable Mention: Stijn Wielandt, research scientist, Watershed Function, “What can waves tell us about water?”
