It's only fair to let you know that I DID get a reply from Jaspers albeit 3 weeks after my query. Here is their reply:
"The fittings should be tightened by hand, don't tighten the screws by a cordless screw driver, which possibly is adjusted at to much power. You better use the allen key.

Handwheels also should be tightened well by hand. It is important to use the security clamps, which have to be pushed with its pin into the small hole of the t-fittings as shown in the manual.
