Sailing to this tiny limestone rock in the middle of the South Pacific is not for the faint of heart, and often impossible if the weather conditions aren't right, but we got lucky! A window opened for a quick hop from Beveridge Reef, and we jumped on it, not wanting to miss the opportunity to explore this remote island. We'd heard tales of the inhospitable coastline, the infamous dinghy dock, and the highly venomous sea snakes, why wouldn't we want to go?! What we hadn't heard was that as tiny as this country may be, it more than makes up for it in might - in the power of nature, the intensity of it's beauty, and the enormous heart of it's people. Their slogan is "Niue, there's no place like us." And we believe it! It's straight out of a fairy tale...and we're smitten.
